A 10-part faith-based blog series: Week 5

Have you ever thought to yourself, "When I get married..."

"I'll travel."

"I'll buy a house."

"I'll start that ministry."

“I’ll be fulfilled.”

Do any of these thoughts sound familiar to you? They sure do to me.

It’s so easy for us to discount ourselves and to think there’s something missing from our qualifications to pursue all God has for us.

We can look around at all the couples that surround us and think that we don’t have the support and guidance that we need to obey God’s call.

These are lies that keep us from our purpose.

God has given you strengths and qualities that only you possess. With God you have all you need to pursue God’s call. You don’t need a life partner to qualify for your kingdom calling.

You have a unique and amazing purpose God has given you to pursue. Whether or not you pursue it now, later, or never is completely up to you.

Instead, I invite you to ask yourself:

"What is God inviting me to do today?" and “What is my kingdom mindset?”

Perhaps there is a ministry God has been bringing to your attention over and over again, but you’ve been ignoring it. You wonder if you’re enough on your own.

I wonder if there is a calling God has been leading you to that you’ve been avoiding, because you think you need a partner to fulfill your calling.

Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 7:32, “I want you to be free from the concerns of this life. An unmarried man can spend his time doing the Lord’s work and thinking how to please him."

Singleness offers us a unique freedom for serving God.

As a single person, we have an amazzing opportunity to be soley focused on serving God and living in the purpose God calls us to without having to split our focus like we would if we were married.

How are you using this opportunity? Your singleness is a gift and a chance to serve God wholeheartedly right here and now.

What is God calling you to pursue in your singleness?

There is no better time than now to pursue all God has for you.

What are you waiting for?

Joy Challenge:

Pray and ask God what’s one thing this week you can pursue that you’ve been putting off or scared to go after. Take that next step.

Trust God to use you in mighty ways in your singleness.

Struggling to believe this? Maybe it’s time for you to reach out and help you gain confidence and your ability to trust God with where He has you right now.

He has big plans for you…right now.
